Getting into Essential Oils

What are essential oils exactly? You’ve probably encountered them at one point or another, most can be found in spa treatments and different kinds of bath and body products or maybe you have a tita friend that’s offered you an essential oil roller when you mentioned you have a headache or a stomachache. Essential Oils are, essentially ;), extracts that support health and over all well-being. These are natural products that you can use to aromatically, internally, and topically. If you’re like me and you’re trying your best to switch to a more natural and sustainable lifestyle then these little bottles of joy is a godsend.

Okay, so let’s talk about how you can use them. (1) Aromatically. This means using your sense of smell through diffusing the oils with an ultrasonic diffuser. This is my favorite way to use it. Using a diffuser has really help set the mood of my space and lift my spirits. Especially, when I’m feeling a little down or lazy, it’s a great pick me up. (2) Internally. Yes, you read that right. You can actually eat organic essential oils. You can dilute them in your *glass water bottle, use them to cook or create veggie capsules. But take note that NOT ALL kinds of essential oils are safe for ingestion especially if you have allergies to certain food. Google is your best friend, search the components of your oils first before ingesting. (3) Topically. You can apply them to certain parts of your body. If you have aches or want to cool down on a hot day, essential oils are are great way to treat that. You can also incorporate some oils into your skin enhancing oils to your skincare routine.

Some of my favorite blends so far are:

  • Cedarwood
  • Citrus Fresh
  • Orange
  • Peppermint

Sweet Dreams (Diffuser Blend)

You Need To Calm Down (Roller Blend)
