As the title suggests, this blog post is about me waking up at 4:30 am. I thought I would share how it started and how it affected me and my daily routine. And yes I know it is (kind of) crazy that I wake up this early. I think it is crazy too.
I started waking up at 4:30 am unintentional. One morning Joey, my dog, woke me up at 4:30 ’cause he needed to go outside and do his thing and next thing I knew it started happening every. single. day. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing entirely but I wouldn’t say I love it either.
Depending on how tired I am, some days I still go back to bed after I’ve let the dog out. and some days I start my day then and there. Of course, there is always good and bad about this situation so let me break it down.
Pro. The good thing about waking up this early is how quiet it is. Since it’s still dark outside and most people are still asleep, I get to start my day nice and peacefully (minus the fact that I was woken up by my dog barking). I don’t feel like I am rushing to get everything done before I get to work. Some days, I can even sit and read before I leave–that’s my favourite part.
Con. One thing I don’t like about waking up so early is that I feel the need to go to bed earlier than usual. By 9 pm I am already itching to go to bed. Since I get home at around 7 pm I feel like I lack time to do things before bed. If I decide to read or watch a show, I always feel like I am fighting my own body to stay up just so I can do these things.
