Korean Snack Haul

Me and Coco decided to combine two things we absolutely love, food and ANYTHING KOREAN! Since we are generally surrounded by a bunch of Korean grocery stores we explored the shit out of their snack aisle and got a ton of snacks that we’ve never tried before. So, here we go! Let me tell you about what we think of them!

Sin Dang Dong

This caught our attention because it’s is essentially a snack version of tteokbokki (Spicy Stir-fried Rice Cakes) and tteokbokki is one of my all-time favourite Korean foods so I just had to try this out. I was so sure that this was going to taste good but oh boy, I was wrong. The taste was spicy, sweet, and all nasty at the same time and it was just disgusting. I think I can speak for both me and Coco that this was quite a disappointment. Looks like I’ll be sticking to regular cooked tteokbokki from now on.

Dak Da Ri

Now, this one was fun. Honestly, we only bought this cause it had a cute chicken in the packaging. I actually liked this more than I thought I was going to AND how cute this that little comic in the inner flap of the box?? My only complaint this that the number of mini chickens inside was too little and that the chips were hollow inside. Other than that, it was A++!

Al Se Woo Chip

Who doesn’t like anything that is shrimp flavoured? I absolutely loved this! Out of all the chips, this has got to be my favourite. Though a part of me kind of knew this was going to be good so this was a no brainer.

Oh, the jjapagatti. Just writing this right now is making me miss it. Since me and Coco haven’t got the slightest clue on how to make real jajangmyeon, the jjapagatti was a great alternative. Though it’s never going to be as good as the real thing, it can definitely fill our jajangmyeon cravings. Also, this is a great snack for Netflix & chill nights with your friends!

Dungji Jangmyu

After finding the instant jjajangmyeon, we were lucky enough to find instant cold noodles! Another Korean food favourite of ours. BUT I have to be honest with you guys… we kind of fucked this up. MAKING INSTANT COLD NOODLES IS NOT AS INSTANT AS YOU THINK (or we’re just dumb and we can’t follow simple instructions) Basically we ended up with a huge lump of noodles that just wouldn’t separate. We still got to eat most of it but I think it would’ve tasted a lot better if we cooked it right… oops. Maybe next time?

There you have it folks, our first attempt at a food haul. 😉

Bonus BTS picture of Coco and Angela video taping the food.
