Double Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

TT-C-Double Chocolate Cookies-01

There is something about baking that I love so much. Whether the final product is good or bad (obviously I’d prefer it if the outcome was good), there is just something so relaxing about it. It’s messy but I love prepping all the ingredients and putting them into those tiny containers.

A few weeks back, Jeff and I along with some of our officemates decided to bake some cookies. We were all very excited that it was hard to pick one recipe to follow. So, today, I wanted to show you guys how it turned out.

Disclaimer: The only reason why we weren’t in the kitchen was that we were filming the process and the lighting was better in that corner.

The ingredients we used for the cookies were taken from Tanya Burr‘s website. We also mixed in a few ingredients from another website that our officemate Kaz found but I don’t know what website that is. Also, you are probably wondering why the vanilla extract isn’t the photo. Well, that is because we forgot to prepare it.

Lets Bake!

Step 1: Line a large baking tray with parchment paper and pop aside. You can use a bit of butter as glue so the parchment won’t move around. Pre-heat your oven to 200°C

Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, mix your butter and sugar until it’s creamy. When the mixture is smooth, add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined. In a separate bowl mix your flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. When both mixtures have been fully combined. This is optional but if your mixture is looking a bit dry you can add a dash of milk. If not, this is the time you add in your chocolate chunks.

Step 4: Divide your batter into even sizes and place into the oven for 11 minutes. When it is cooked, let it rest for 15 minutes or until it is fully cool and then you are done!

The cookies ended up better than we expected. I feel we could’ve made the cookies itself look prettier but oh well. They were just the right amount of sweetness and we finished it all so quick.

What do you think about the cookies? If you do try to make them send us pictures! We’d love to see them.

x. Coco
